Turning off commenting. Time to turn the spotlight away from me and back on to you all.
Thank you so much for all your kind words, both here in comments and emails. I hope I have responded to everyone. Please accept my apologies if I have missed anyone out.
Lynn, that is such sad news and sending you big hugs. I'm really glad that you have some space now to be creative and return to things that bring you joy. We are all here for you if you need any support. Lots of Love Melx
So many clichés abound and I heard them all when both my husband and son died 20 years ago… one that remains with me though is that, although with time it does not get so much easier, it does get further away. True. And that helps. Life goes on and I have rebuilt and changed .. and kept busy. Take good care of yourself.
What a shocking, rotten thing to happen. It's beyond impressive that you're pushing yourself back into the fray. But don't let that distract you from taking care of your own needs.
Thanks, Julia. If it gets too much, the 'delete/pause' button is always available. Or I could hand it over to someone with a vision of what to do with it.
While we don’t know each other, I know the enormity of your heart and the generosity of your spirit. May your husband’s memory remain a vibrant blessing in your life. I am so sorry to hear about this loss but am thinking of you as you recover and find new avenues to nurture with your vast creativities and energy. So glad to be in your circle
I’m so sorry, Lynn. I wasn’t aware of your husband’s passing. Please accept my most sincere condolences and let me know if I can help with your reemergence in any way. 💗
Ah Lynn, so sorry to hear what you've been going through. Such a devastating loss.
I've been absent from Substack too - we lost someone very dear to us as well. We didn't realise for a while that so much had happened to some of our favourite people here, sigh.
There are really no words of comfort I can offer that would mean much, but do take care of yourself. Take each day as it comes - grief can consume us at the oddest moments. Sometimes it's hard to breathe, much less think, so don't feel you have to be strong for everyone, be kind to yourself too.
My condolences to you. Grief is so painful and can be all-consuming. However, we must start breathing again and move forward as best we can. Take care of yourself, too.

Keeping busy is the plan. Rebuilding and staying positive will be one step at a time.
Holding you in my heart Lynn.
Thanks, Sally.
